After 5 airports and many hours of travel, I arrived safely in Fuglafjørður, Faroe Islands. I left Natasha’s house in El Cerrito at 6:00 a.m. on July 26 and arrived in Fuglafjørður at 9:30 p.m. on July 27. The Faroe Islands are on Greenwich mean time, 8 hours later than California. I am quite happy with my house. The rooms are comfortable and the views are fantastic. I have 2 bedrooms, so there is room for company. The population of Fuglafjørður is about 1600, and every time I go out, I see someone I know.

Monday I will go to the capital city of Tórshavn and stay with my cousin, Nikolina Poulsen, while I take a 3 week Faroese language class at the university there. The population of Tórshavn is about 16,000, quite a large city. (Well, it is if you don’t have a car).
